Stone Mountain Council Approves Property Tax Hike

The Stone Mountain City Council met Monday, July 9.

The City Council of Stone Mountain voted on the following agenda items on Monday, July 9:

1. Proposal from National Center for State Courts - Review of Municipal Court Operations Total Proposal Cost $10,000 – Cost for the City of Stone Mountain $7,000. Action: Approved.

2. Resolution 2012-08– Amend the General Fund Budget. Action: Approved.

3. Resolution 2012-09- Establish policies and standards for the use of the Rock Gym for Recreational Purposes. Action: Approved.

4. Ordinance 2012-03 – Set the Millage Rate for Ad Valorem Property Taxation (1st Reading – June 18, 2012) (2nd Reading – July 9, 2012). Action: Approved.

The tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 18.8 mills, an increase of 4.086 mills.
