[Photos] Back to School Bash 2012

The City of Stone Mountain gave out at least 600 bags of school supplies at the third annual event Saturday.

Hundreds of children got a jump start on their school supply lists at the City of Stone Mountain's Back to School Bash Saturday.

The free supplies included the basics such as paper, pencils, pencial sharpeners, erasers and more for elementary and middle school students.

Radio Disney was on hand to provide music and prizes. The DeKalb County Board of Health set up a display about the effects of smoking, and provided educational materials.

As the event was winding down, city manager Barry Amos told Patch some 600 bags of supplies had been given away. Nearby schools will receive the remaining 400 to distribute to students.
