Are You Ready for Some Pickleball?

Stone Mountain City Council member Steve Higgins is looking into bringing the increasingly popular game to the town.

Stone Mountain City Council member Steve Higgins would like to bring the game to the city.

"It will attract people to town because there's not many places doing it," Higgins said during the council's recent work session.

Higgins said it doesn't cost much for the equipment or the materials to create the courts -- under $500 -- which he said could be set up at Medlock Park or the Rock Gym, for example. He's also looking into other possible venues in the city.

Higgins said he's considering bringing it to the council or making it happen himself. He also said he'd like to create an outdoor court at home.
