Memorial Drive Waffle House Recently Robbed at Gunpoint

The crime took place on Labor Day, Sept. 3, at 5970 Memorial Dr., according to DeKalb County police.

at 5970 Memorial Drive in unincorporated Stone Mountain was robbed at gunpoint Monday, Sept 3.

According to the DeKalb County police report, the establishment was hit at 11:40 p.m. that dayThe two suspects came in and told the employees and a witness to stay calm and open the register. The first suspect stood watch while the second suspect removed the money from the register, the report states.

They took about $324 from the register, according to the report.

After watching the surveillance video, the responding officer noted that the first suspect had a black pistol.

The two then fled the restaurant on foot, but headed in different directions. The first suspect ran north toward N. Hairston Road, while the other ran west on Memorial Drive.

The first suspect was described in the report as a dark-skinned black male wearing a black doo rag, red shorts and gray shorts. The second suspect was described as a dark skinned heavy set male wearing a white ball cap, gray T-shirt, black pants and black gloves.
