Three Children Injured in Fire

The cause of the accidental fire was unattended food on the stove, Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services say.

Three children suffered moderate to significant burns about the upper body from a fire at their home on Thursday, Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services said.

The children, ages 6,9 and 15, were transported to Grady Burn Center with non-life-threatening burns.

Fire crews arrived at the one-story home in the 1200 block of Tara Court in unincorporated Stone Mountain to find moderate smoke conditions, the fire department said. The crews started putting out the fire and while entering the home were met at the door by three children; their mother was at work at the time, the department said.
