A panel of metro Atlanta bloggers spoke at Hairston Crossing Library . The panel drew a nice crowd (84 people), and several in the audience had already made the change.

May 2: Students' Vandalism Charge - DeKalb Schools Responds

On May 2, a DeKalb School System spokesman talked to Patch about the vandalism charge against three DeKalb Alternative School students the previous week for the damaged pool in the Hearthstone community, unincorporated Stone Mountain.

May 3: For the TV Cameras - T-shirt-wearin' flash mob in Stone Mountain Village

Channel 11 will broadcast its morning show in the City of Stone Mountain on May 11. To get as much promotion for the area as possible, there will be free T-shirts available at ART Station on a first-come, first-served basis starting the afternoon of May 10. Jack Sartain, vice president of Main Street Stone Mountain, wants folks to wear the shirts and create "a flash mob" for the cameras.

May 4: Cruel Irony for Firefighter

WSB reported that an Atlanta firefighter's Stone Mountain home was destroyed by a fireΒ  early Friday morning.

May 5: KaBoom!

The KaBoom playground project in the Mainstreet community resulted in a playground built in a day -- that was the goal -- thanks to some 200 volunteers.
