A pedestrian, reportedly a teenage girl, was injured Tuesday evening during a car chase in Stone Mountain.

A police car was chasing another car on Ridge Avenue around 8 p.m, and that car hit a person on the road and kept going, according to Patch Editor Sarah Bakhtiari, who lives there and was on the scene right after it happened.

Bakhtiari's brother and roommate witnessed the accident itself. "They said she was still able to stand after being hit, but she was still taken away in an ambulance," she said.

The impact caused the front bumper of the car to fly off. "My roommate says the police car kept going. The cars were moving so fast that it's unclear if the police officer even knew the suspect hit someone," Bakhtiari said.

The victim's condition is not known at this time. Stay with Patch for more details.
