Inside the Police Reports: Tires Stolen on Chevy Impala; Ford Truck Ransacked

The following local incidents are among several recently-reported vehicle thefts and attempted thefts.

A person stole all four tires and rims from a 1968 Green Chevrolet Impala on Jan. 14 in the 6300 block of Rockbridge Rd., the victim told DeKalb county police.

The suspect did not enter the vehicle, according to the incident report. The tires and rims were valued at $800.

In another recent incident, suspects ransacked a man's 2002 blue Ford utility truck sitting in his driveway, but apparently didn't find what they were looking for.

According to the DeKalb county incident report, the man parked his car around 7 p.m. on Jan. 19 in his driveway in the 1800 block of Banneker Ct. in unincorporated Stone Mountain, leaving the doors unlocked.

When he returned the next morning around 11 a.m., the man noticed "all his belongings thrown all over the car," the report states.

There was no damage to the car and he noticed nothing missing.
