Suspect Steals Booze, Biscuits

A woman attempted to walk off with booze and biscuits from the store on S. Hairston Rd. in unincorporated Stone Mountain, a person with the store's loss prevention department told DeKalb police.

According to the police report, the loss prevention person told police he saw a woman on camera on July 6 trying to leave the store with what was listed as Bay Parrot package drinks, Beringer beverages and GSWH biscuits. The items totaled $17.94, the person told police.

The suspect walked past the cash registers with the goods; the man from loss prevention confronted her, he said. The suspect tried to walk away at a fast pace but he was able to get in front of her at the store entrance.

The man said the the suspect said she was in a hurry because someone was waiting for her outside. She was brought to an office where the items were found in her possession, according to the police report.

Kroger planned to prosecute the suspect, who was taken into custody and brought to the DeKalb County jail, the report said.
