Sixth Grade Girl Almost Grabbed at Bus Stop

The incident Tuesday morning involved a student from Freedom Middle School.

A sixth grade female student who was standing at a Stone Mountain bus stop Tuesday morning was approached by a man in a car who attempted to grab her. She escaped unharmed. The following is a letter sent to parents by the principal of the girl's school. 

Dear Parents/Guardians:

It was reported to Freedom Middle School by a sixth grade female student that she was approached by a man at her bus stop in the Nielson Drive/Nielson Court area who then attempted to grab her from his vehicle on the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013.

The individual was driving a gold Nissan and was described by the student as a Caucasian male. The student informed the Freedom Middle School staff upon arriving at school, and the District’s Police Department immediately began an investigation. 

Additionally, the District’s Transportation Department has been notified of the reported incident so that bus drivers can monitor this region as they drive their routes each morning and afternoon.
