Police: Air Conditioner Thief Caught

Suspect is in the Gwinnett County Detention Center without bond.

Gwinnett County police have charged a man with five counts of felony theft by taking, five counts of criminal damage to property second degree, one count of possession of tools for the commission of a crime, and one count of loitering and prowling after he was caught in the unincorporated Stone Mountain where he had allegedly stolen air conditioners.

Gwinnett County police said on April 2 at about 6:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a man stealing air conditioners from a house on Westheimer Road in unincorporated Stone Mountain in Gwinnett. Police said officers responded quickly and caught the suspect, Zierre Fame Odom, 25. Police said there were  several air conditioner parts, wiring, and copper tubing in Odom's car.

Detectives from the Metal Theft Unit determined that the air conditioner parts in Odom’s vehicle came from five separate air conditioner units, police said. Detectives searched the area and located a second victim nearby; both victim locations were vacant, police said.
