News Report: Cousin of Slain Former Redan High Student Arrested

Nolan Ryan Henderson's cousin is charged with his murder, the Jackson Clarion-Ledger reports.

Police in Jackson, MS have arrested a cousin of a former Redan High School student, Nolan Ryan Henderson, who was shot and killed Sunday at a Jackson apartment complex, according to the Clarion-Ledger.

Police charged Jarrod Emerson, 25, with murder, the newspaper reported. Here is the video of report.

According to the article, citing information from police, ballistics tests matched Emerson's weapon with the bullet recovered from Henderson’s body, which was discovered at an apartment complex in Jackson.

Police said Emerson told them Henderson, 19, called asking his cousin to come over after Henderson was reportedly in a physical altercation with Jackson State University football players at the apartment swimming pool.

Police said Emerson met Henderson, and the two went back to the apartment complex to confront those involved in the assault of Henderson, the article said.

Police said Emerson confronted several people. They said he pulled out the weapon and fired several shots, according to the news report. Police said Henderson was shot when the crowd scattered, the article said.
