News Nearby: Man Shot, Another Robbed at Rockbridge Road Walmart

Saturday morning attack occurred in the shopping center's parking lot, and police are looking for two suspects.

Gwinnett County Police are looking for two suspects who shot a man and robbed another outside the Walmart at 1825 Rockbridge Road on Saturday around 2:50 a.m.

The suspects were armed with a semi-automatic handgun, possibly a .40-calibre Glock, according to a police statement. They approached two separate shoppers in the parking lot of the store, shooting one, a 35-year-old male, in the leg when "he did not understand their demands and continued to walk towards the store," the report said.

The other victim, a 20-year-old-male, handed over his keys, wallet and cell phone. The suspects took his car and left the scene. That vehicle is described as a blue 2010 Honda Fit with Georgia tag PFE8356.

Gwinnett Police reviewed Walmart security footage and found that the assailants arrived in a red Honda Civic that had been taken in a carjacking Friday in Atlanta. It was located at the shopping center and impounded.

The shooting victim was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Gwinnett County Police are asking for anyone with information about this crime to call 770-513-5700.

And why is the North Druid Hills Patch reporting on a crime that happened in Gwinnett County? Perhaps you should report the Patch story of the homeowner who saved her family from Burglars. http://gwinnett.patch.com/articles/loganville-mother-shoots-burglar-what-if-she-wasnt-armed-or-if-he-knew-she-was

Hi, J. Ellis, I occasionally include reports from neighboring or nearby Patches. Mostly on the weekends. I keep it limited.

Terry, yes, like mine! ---Snark---Maybe that's why Jonathan provided this update and, by the way, it's not that far from us in Decatur! It shows what kinds of "positive" aspects Walmart brings to a neighborhood. Some people really want it here, but I think this is what we'll find when our neighborhood Walmart opens.
