Motorist Hospitalized After Train Accident

Monday's accident occurred at a marked railway crossing in Stone Mountain.

A train struck a car Monday at a marked railway crossing in Stone Mountain. The car's occupant was injured and taken to Grady Hospital in stable condition.

The car was stationary on the tracks at South Stone Mountain and Redan roads as an eastbound CSX train approached at 50 m.p.h., the AJC reported. 
 
The train struck the rear of the car, knocking it off the tracks.
