Man Steals 9 Bottles of Perfume

Each week, Stone Mountain-Redan Patch takes a closer look at recent local crime reports.

A woman told DeKalb County police that a man stole nine bottles of perfume valued at $350 from the Walgreens at 2065 S. Hairston Rd., just over the line in unincorporated Decatur.

The incident occurred May 6 but was reported just before 7 p.m May 20. According to the report a man came in and approached the perfume case. The woman, whose title with the store is not identified in the report, said the case was closed, but not secure.

The man opened up the case, helped himself to the perfume bottles, then left the store without paying for them.

The suspect is described as a 6-foot tall, 160 pound black male wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes.

This isn't the only unusual theft reported at a local Walgreens recently. Last month, from the store at 4765 Redan Road, according to a DeKalb County police report.
