A man came up to an eight-year-old girl, shoved her to the ground and took her boots off her feet, according to police.

The robbery happened shortly after 3 p.m. on Dec. 30 in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 1173 North Hairston Road, Stone Mountain.

The girl's mother told police her daughter was playing outside when she was approached by an unknown adult black male who wore dreads, a white hooded shirt, and blue jeans.

"The suspect pushed the victim to the ground and snatched a pair of brown Ugg boots off her feet," Officer A.T. Lawrie wrote in an incident report. "The suspect fled from the location in possession of the victim's boots."

The girl, who was not injured, confirmed her mother's testimony, saying, "he pushed me and took my boots."

The incident is being investigated by Detective Perkins of the Tucker Precinct Pedestrian Robbery Unit.

Wow, footwear....getting to be like Venezuela and that is a sign of the times. Anyone receiving boots as a "gift" should really beware. One more thing, check Craig's List in case this is just about selling them - you would be shocked how much stuff apparently turns up there.... Poor little girl. ;-( That experience will be with her for a while.

Hey Tortoise (the nickname fits as you are obviously slow), what is racist about stating a fact?

What kind of a human being would assault an 8-yr old child? This little girl will carry this memory with her the rest of her life. I hope they can find the thug that did this.

Tortoise, that's a fact buddy, it's not racist in the least...go back in time over the past several decades man, black people have been murdering each other for shoes and jackets and clothes for the longest...I think it's racist that nobody can state a fact unless it's derogatory towards white people. I grew up in downtown Detroit, I got beat up for my starter jacket a few times..my cousin got shot in the head for his Air Jordans, what now?? we're white, and all the perpetrators were black, you explain how that makes me a racist?? I never got to jump up and scream racism when black people were beating the hell out of me!!
