Man Robs Little Girl's Boots Off Her Feet

An eight-year-old was targeted for her footwear, police say.

A man came up to an eight-year-old girl, shoved her to the ground and took her boots off her feet, according to police.

The robbery happened shortly after 3 p.m. on Dec. 30 in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 1173 North Hairston Road, Stone Mountain.

The girl's mother told police her daughter was playing outside when she was approached by an unknown adult black male who wore dreads, a white hooded shirt, and blue jeans.

"The suspect pushed the victim to the ground and snatched a pair of brown Ugg boots off her feet," Officer A.T. Lawrie wrote in an incident report. "The suspect fled from the location in possession of the victim's boots."

The girl, who was not injured, confirmed her mother's testimony, saying, "he pushed me and took my boots."

The incident is being investigated by Detective Perkins of the Tucker Precinct Pedestrian Robbery Unit.
