Man Carjacked In His Driveway

Inside the police reports: The victim told DeKalb County police he was rummaging through the car trunk when the suspect approached.

A man was carjacked in his driveway on Sunday, Jan. 6 in unincorporated Stone Mountain, according to a DeKalb County police incident report.

The incident happened in the 1200 block of Whitney Place around 11:35 p.m. The victim told police that he came outside and started rummaging through the trunk of his car, which was parked in his driveway.

A suspect came up to him and placed an unknown hard object in the victim's side, he told police. The victim said he suspected it was a gun.

The suspect demanded the victim's car keys and wallet, the report states.

The victim handed over both. The suspect drove the car, a 1999 four-door blue BMW, towards Redan Road, according to the report.

The victim said he could not see the suspect because he was facing forward and the suspect was in back of him. The description he provided to police was a black male, 6 feet, medium build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans and unknown weapon.
