Four Women Escape Serious Injury in Violent Car Wreck

A car containing four young women crashed into a tree at 50 m.p.h. Sunday night in Smoke Rise, but the occupants walked away with minor injuries.

Police said the car was traveling uphill on Bowers Road around 10 p.m when it plowed through a brick mailbox and then slammed into a tree. In the accompanying photo, part of the mailbox can seen where it landed in the rear window of the car.

"Wow! What a miracle that they weren't killed," Tammy Snyder posted on Facebook.

The names and ages of the driver and passengers have not yet been released.
