Four Charged in Redan Armored Car Robbery

Three men arrested in Gwinnett have been charged with the Jan. 21 robbery at a Wells Fargo ATM, one of a spree of such heists. One man remains at large.

DeKalb police have charged with the robbery and shooting of a guard at the Wells Fargo ATM on Redan Road Jan. 21. Three of the men were arrested in Gwinnett, and one remains at large. The robbery was one of a series around the metro Atlanta area.

Ashley Henderson, 27, Stacy Dooley, 34, and Quinton Booker, 34, were charged by DeKalb police with  armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Another man has been identified, but not yet arrested. Henderson, Dooley and Booker are still in the Gwinnett County Jail.

Henderson and Dooley were also charged with the robbery at a Toco Hill Shopping Center and the murder of  32-year-old armored car guard Gary Castillo. A third man has also been charged.

On Jan. 21, two men fired on a Loomis guard at the Redan Wells Fargo ATM. The guard was taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. He required surgery but survived.

The FBI, which led the investigation of the, apprehended , said Cpl. Jake Smith, a Gwinnett County police spokesman.

"We've been aware of their identity for awhile," he said.

The FBI, however, is not commenting on the investigation, said Stephen Emmett, a special agent with the bureau's Atlanta office.

A funeral service was held Monday morning in Canton for Castillo, who worked for Garda Cash Logistics. He was leaving the Kroger grocery store in the shopping center with a cash pick-up when he was shot by one of the robbers who fled in a getaway car with another man on March 15. He later died at Grady Hospital in Atlanta.

The FBI has been chasing the men responsible for the crimes since Sept. 14 when two men robbed a Garda armored courier while he was servicing an ATM at a Bank of America on Howell Mill Road. Two men struck again in Marietta Oct. 7 when they robbed a courier at gunpoint inside a Mex-America Latino store. 

Another robbery occurred in Buford on Nov. 11, Snellville on Nov. 29 and inside the Mall of Georgia in Gwinnett County on Dec. 7. A second courier was able to fire at one of the robbers who fled the mall through a side door, according to an FBI statement.
