Fire Causes Extensive Damage to Stone Mountain House

The residents are now displaced, firefighters said.

Firefighters were called to a house fire at the 2300 block of Broad Creek Drive in Stone Mountain on Saturday afternoon.

A 911 caller stated the back of the two-story house was on fire and flames were visible.

Fire crews entered the structure to extinguish the fire and had to back out due to heavy fire and smoke conditions, a statement from Gwinnett Firefighters said. Most of the fire was extinguished from outside and crews re-entered the house to put out β€œhot spots.”
