Father Charged with Killing Children

Murder charges dropped against former suspect.

Gwinnett County Police have charged 23-year-old Elvis Garcia with the murders of his two young children, Bradley Garcia, 3, and Edward Garcia, 1. Garcia has also been charged with assaulting his other child, a three-year-old male who remains hospitalized.

, with two counts of murder. Those charges have been dropped, but Cardenas-Rico remains in custody on drug charges.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 9, police responded to a . Officers located 23-year-old Elvis Garcia outside the home suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to an area hospital in serious condition.

Bradley and Edward Garcia were found dead in the basement of the home. Both boys had been stabbed. Garcia’s other son was life-flighted to a children’s hospital in Atlanta.

The Gwinnett County Police Department plans to hold a press conference at 5 p.m. today to discuss the most recent developments in the case.

Garcia is currently being held in the Gwinnett County Detention Center without bond. He has been charged with two counts of murder and one count of aggravated assault. An immigration hold is also in place.
