Deputy Shoots Murder Suspect Near Lithonia Church

Clarence Wade was shot three times, but survived.

A man wanted for murder was shot three times by a DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputy Wednesday near a Lithonia-area church.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Clarence Wade was shot in the parking lot of New Birth Missionary Church, located at 6400 Woodrow Road in Lithonia. Wade survived the shooting; the deputy was not injured.

The incident happened around 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5.

A sheriff’s office spokesman told the AJC Wade is suspected of killing an infant.
