No Children On DeKalb School Bus That Ran Off Browns Mill Road

The fire department was on the scene of the accident Tuesday afternoon, near Panola Road.

There were no children on a DeKalb county school bus that reportedly took out a utility pole as it ended up in a ditch on Browns Mill Road near Panola Road in Lithonia.

According to CBS Atlanta, the bus driver is a diabetic who blacked out.

Channel 2's Jason Durden tweeted:

School bus ran off the road and took out a utility pole on Browns Mill east of Panola in Dekalb. No kids on the bus but big delays.

CBS Atlanta reported that the bus also hit a car before striking the pole. There was traffic backed up on Browns Mill in both directions Tuesday afternoon. Emergency crews were on the scene. News outlets reported there were no injuries.
