Crime Blotter: Pedestrian Robbed After Exiting Bus

A man who had exited a MARTA bus in the 4900 block of Redan Rd. told DeKalb police he was soon forced to the ground and robbed, according to the police report.

Police met with the victim just before 7 p.m. last Saturday, Dec. 10. The victim told police while getting off the bus in unincorporated Stone Mountain he was approached by five men; one of them asked him if he had a cigarette. He said he did not, according to the report.

The victim then told police that the suspects started walking behind him. According to the report, when he turned around to see if they were still following him, two of the suspects grabbed him and forced him to the ground; meanwhile, another suspect stood over him waving a box cutter and said, "you gone give it up."

One of the suspects went into the victim's right jacket pocket and removed his wallet, taking $30, the man told police. He also said two other suspects watched the incident. All suspects then ran from the scene towards Mainstreet Park, the report states.Β 

The victim was not injured.
