Chat Line Talk Leads to Meeting, Robbery

Inside the police reports: Incident was reported to DeKalb Police on July 3.

A man in unincorporated Stone Mountain told DeKalb County Police that he was robbed at gunpoint by someone he met through an Atlanta chat line.

The victim, 27, said he had been talking with the suspect for three days. They spoke on July 3 and met on Mainstreet Park Drive the same day.

The 18-year-old suspect got out of his vehicle, a Red Magnum, with two other suspects, the police report said.

The suspect from the chat line pointed a black hand gun at the victim and instructed him to lie on the ground and not look back.

The suspects took the man's cell phone and wallet, which he reported had $30 in it. The cell phone, described as a Metro 4G Lite Connect, was valued at $200, the wallet at $20. No injuries were reported.
