Chamblee Police Continue Investigation Into Fatal Shooting of Local Man
Two persons have already been arrested in connection with the incident.
Chamblee police are continuing their investigation into the of 34-year-old Yannick Medjo, who was discovered shot in the parking lot of the Mad Italian restaurant early in the morning of Aug. 18.
According to a press release from the police, witnesses heard a gunshot and then saw a blue or green SUV, either a Ford Explorer or Expedition, leaving the area. Another vehicle involved in the crime is a black pickup truck with an extended cab and body damage.
Medjo, who police say had a Stone Mountain address, was with Phylos Pokem and the two had traveled to Tennessee overnight in Pokem's car. At the time of the shooting, Medjo was trying to get back to his car, which he'd parked at the restaurant.

The blue or green SUV approached and there was a confrontation with unknown persons inside the car, one of them reportedly armed with a long gun. When Medjo was shot, Pokem got back in his car, hit the black pickup truck on the way out of the parking lot and fled the scene. He later turned himself in to police and is in custody, charged with felony murder, providing false statements to police and forgery.
Another co-conspirator, Armand Patrick Ngamou, was arrested on outstanding warrants.

Police believe Medjo and Pokem were both involved in money scams and that one or both of them had robbed someone for $40,000.
