Arrest Made in Double Homicide, More Pending, Police Say

One person has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man, 26, and a woman, 22, at the Colony at Stone Mountain Apartments on North Hairston, and more arrests are pending, the DeKalb County Police Department said.

The police aren't saying what the charges are in the arrest and haven't released the name of the arrested person.

The police believe the two victims were sitting in a car outside an apartment unit at the complex on Tuesday when a man approached them and started shooting, police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said. 

The woman died at the scene, and the man died after being taken to a hospital.

The names of the victims aren't being released until the next of kin can be notified, Parish said in an e-mailed statement Wednesday morning. 

The motive for the shooting is still unknown.
