Gwinnett police officers responded to the call at 6:30 a.m. after the complainant, a 20-year-old Stone Mountain resident, reported the armed robbery.

She explained to police that the restaurant was just opening and she was standing at the front counter. The next thing she knew, she saw the man walk into the establishment. She screamed, and the other employees came out to see what the commotion was about. The suspect then proceeded to steal the money in the registers.

The victim told police that when she tried to lower herself to the ground, the suspect pulled her up by her sweatshirt and forced her to the back office for the money in the safe and another cash drawer.

The manager told police that he's unsure the exact amount of cash that was taken, but the suspect left the previous night's deposit in the safe.

Another employee, an 18-year-old Stone Mountain resident, told police that he was stocking the freezer, as he does every morning, when he heard his co-worker scream. When he arrived at the front of the restaurant, he said, the suspect stuck a pistol in his face and said, "You don't move, either."

Officers were able lift several prints from the back room, but CSI determined that the prints were not identifiable because of the quality.

There are no surveillance cameras in the store, but workers were able to describe the suspect as a black male, around 6 feet to 6 feet, 3 inches and 180 to 200 pounds. The 18-year-old employee also told police that the suspect had a very deep voice and he was wearing a short-sleeve shirt, dark pants and gray sneakers. The mask he was wearing only showed his eyes, and the report does not list an age range.
