48 Pounds of Pot Seized after DeKalb Man Jumps from Truck

Decatur's David Ravin Walfall ran from police following a routine traffic stop in Florida.

A DeKalb County man was arrested and jailed over the weekend in Punta Gorda, Fla., after police discovered 48 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle after a routine traffic stop.

According to The News-Press, David Ravin Walfall, 31, of Decatur, posted $27,500 bond and was released from the Charlotte County jail Monday after being charged with trafficking marijuana, possessing drug paraphernalia, leaving the scene of a crash involving property records and resisting an officer without violence.

Police stopped Walfall after he allegedly failed to stop his vehicle before entering the roadway as he exited a gas station. According to the news outlet, once his 2005 Ford pick-up truck came to a stop, Walfall jumped out and took off on foot. He was soon after apprehended.
