Ellen Lewis Belcher, 92, of Stone Mountain

Ellen Lewis Belcher, 92, of Stone Mountain, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2013.

Born in Columbia, SC, Belcher grew up in Pickens and Charleston, SC. She graduated from the College of Charleston. In addition to raising a family, she was a partner in Mary Alexander's Center for Feminine Fitness. After retiring, she moved to Highlands, NC and then to Stone Mountain.

Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Louise and John Hinton of Stone Mountain and Nancy and Jim Walker of Boone, NC; three grandchildren: John Hinton of Atlanta, Bo Hinton of Charlotte, and Craig Walker of Greenville, SC; six great-grandchildren: Michael, Lauren, Katherine, Jack, George, and Brookes; and one sister, Jessie Hopkins of Columbia, SC.

A memorial service will be held, Saturday, Dec. 14, at 11:00 AM at Park Springs Main Community Building, Stone Mountain.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cleft Lip/Palate program of Samaritan’s Purse.
