Raymond Previto has been the Environmental Services Director at Park Springs since 2004, before the retirement community near Stone Mountain was even completed.

Raymond Previto has been the Environmental Services Director at Park Springs since 2004, before the retirement community near Stone Mountain was even completed. During the past nine years, Raymond has also served as Plant Operations Director, when needed, and is currently Acting Facilities Services Director.

“Park Springs is a great place to live, but it is also a fantastic place to work,” according to Raymond, who oversees 38 staff members in the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments.

“Unlike my earlier experiences at Gwinnett Medical Center, where I worked for ten years before joining Park Springs, my great staff and I deal with the same customers all the time - and over time, some of our Members have become our friends. Working here is more than just a job. It is a joy to help make our Members’ lives easier. This can be as simple as just changing one lady’s clocks twice a year because of Daylight Savings Time, or by helping catch some escaped cats!”

The Housekeeping department is in charge of cleaning the entire Park Springs campus. A separate staff of six is assigned to the Cobblestone Health Center, while the remaining crew takes care of all public areas of the various buildings that house anywhere from 8 to 65 independent living residences, the sitting areas, all hallways, and the fitness center.

Every home at Park Springs is cleaned on a bi-weekly basis. In addition, Raymond schedules an annual cleaning per home in order to accomplish special projects like ‘high cleaning’ of overhead fans and fixtures, as well as carpet and upholstery cleaning.

The Housekeeping department also handles all community room set-ups (up to 100 room set-ups per month, all over campus) and keeps two specialist technicians busy full time with repairs and improvements.

“Handling the laundry needs of Park Springs is also vital to a smooth operation,” notes Raymond. “We launder the linens of all four dining venues at Park Springs, as well as all linens used in the Cobblestone Health Center. Twice a week, we do the laundry for the Members who live at Cobblestone. As a special service (for a fee) for Park Springs residents, we take in any large item that does not fit into their home washing machine, like blankets, comforters and bedspreads – and we do it with a smile!”

Raymond attends the monthly Park Springs Buildings & Grounds Committee meetings as well as various neighborhood meetings in order to stay informed of requests and special requests.

“It’s all about service. It’s all about making our Members’ lives easy and worry-free. We are here to help – every day.”
