Another Senior Living Community in the Works

There are plans for another senior residential community, this time in nearby Lithonia not far from DeKalb Medical Center at Hillandale.

The project, Panola Gardens, will be located on Snapfinger Woods Drive.

The not-for-profit senior HUD housing organization National Church Residences will hold a community meeting about Panola Gardens on Thursday, May 31 at 6:30 p.m. at the Lou Walker Senior Center, 2538 Panola Road in Lithonia.

There are increasing options for senior living in the Stone Mountain and surrounding community, including ; , which is under construction on Redan Road; and Antioch Manor Estates on S. Hairston Road.

According to National Church Residences' web site, the organization to date has 297 senior housing communities (19,722 units); 26 family housing communities (3,686 units), four permanent supportive housing communities (350 units); five assisted living/skilled nursing facilities three home and community-based service agencies serving 450 clients; six adult care centers serving 560 clients; and four continuing care retirement communities.
