FREE Family Fun This Saturday in the Village!

If you're a parent, you know it's TOUGH these days to find fun things to do with the family that don't cost a fortune! Well, here comes Stone Mountain Village to the rescue! 

This Saturday, May 28, Main Street Stone Mountain is hosting the first of six free outdoor summer movies, to play on a 36' screen on the lawn in the heart of historic downtown Stone Mountain Village.  It's our MOVIES ON MAIN event, and Shrek Forever After is the movie being featured this weekend -- a favorite of all ages! Main Street Stone Mountain, Comcast and SunTrust are name sponsors of this great event, which also has the support of many of the village's businesses and restaurants.

The event takes place after the city-wide yard sale. There will be a couple of food vendors with snacks available for sale, but we encourage you to come to the village early, stroll our downtown streets and have dinner in one of our wonderful restaurants. There are lots to choose from!

The Village Corner is located at the five-way intersection of JBR Memorial Drive and Main Street. They have authentic German cuisine, delicious baked goods and great German beer!  They are offering 20 percent off  to-go meals (perfect for your Movie Night picnic!) each Movie Night this Summer!

The Artisan Restaurant (formerly known as the Continental Cafe) is located on the second floor of the Continental Coffee Shop on Main Street.  They have an amazing menu of items, including unique and  innovative salads.  Pick up a picnic and take it to the movie with you!

Mountain Soul Cafe on E. Mountain Street is serving up all your soul food favorites like fried or grilled chicken and fish, mac and cheese, greens, etc.

The Crab Pot has delectable seafood. They are the home of the famous "Garlic Crab" and you can get everything from Po-Boy Sandwiches to Seafood Pasta or Crab Legs.

Wells Cargo is an institution in Stone Mountain Village, having been a part of the Main Street landscape since 1974.  They have burgers and fries, salads and other delicious choices.

The Rock House restaurant on Mimosa just off Main Street offers a variety of excellent choices, including Sweet Potato Fries, Spinach Salad, Grouper sandwiches and a KY Hot Brown that you have to taste to believe!  Enjoy dinner out on their patio before taking in the free summer movie.

Stone Mountain Village has a lot to offer this Summer. Our first Movie on Main is this Saturday, May 28.  The movie begins at Sundown, but be sure to come early to take in all the sigts and sounds that the Village has to offer!
