Free Family Fun in Stone Mountain Village this Weekend!

Are you looking for something to do with the family...something that won't cost a fortune?  How about something the whole family will love, and it's FREE??

Main Street Stone Mountain's free outdoor movie series continues this weekend with the second installment in the MOVIES ON MAIN events taking place thru October. 

This Saturday June 18, MEGAMIND is the featured presentation.  The show begins at sundown, which is about 9:15 this weekend.  Grab a blanket or some chairs, pack a picnic and bring the family down to the big lawn in historic downtown Stone Mountain.  Folks start arriving around 7:30, the kids can run and play while the adults relax on a blanket under the setting sun. 

We'll have several food vendors selling refreshments, including Main Street selling popcorn, cold drinks and candy; Stone Mountain Bakery will be on hand selling cake by the slice; Michey's Italian Ice will be back with her frosty treats; Summer Breeze will be on hand selling Funnel Cakes and pre-packaged ice cream treats.

Many local restaurants are offering take-out specials so you can get dinner-to-go and take it to the lawn for a picnic! The Village Corner is offering 20% off all to-go orders from 5pm to closing. The Artisan Cafe atop Continental Coffee on Main Street is selling delicious gourmet to-go Picnic Beach Bag special, with a choice of BBQ or regular sandwich and all the fixin's...complete with your own reusable beach bags and blanket, for parties of one to six people!  Call ahead to order or just stop in before you head to the lawn, 770-676-0585.  Other Village restaurants open for dinner hours  include The Crab Pot, Mountain Soul Cafe, The Rock House and Wells Cargo.
