Groundbreaking: Lane Manor Senior Living Housing

From the owner of the development:

DeKalb County will be breaking ground on its newest subsidized housing for low income seniors on Monday, March 26 at 10 am.  This 54-unit community will have six apartments specifically designed for those who are mobility impaired and is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2013.

A $5.6 million grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and $200,000 in HOME funds from DeKalb County is funding this Retirement Housing Foundation project – their 5th community in Georgia.  Retirement Housing Foundation is a nonprofit organization, with its national office in Long Beach, California, that provides housing and services to seniors, low-income families and persons with disabilities.  More than 17,000 people call an RHF community “home” in 166 communities in 25 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
