National Fossil Day at Fernbank Science Center

Fernbank Science Center is
hosting its annual National Fossil Day on Saturday, October 19th. The
Center will be full of displays of fossils and fun activities for all ages,
including the ever-popular shark tooth dig. Fernbank geologist Bill Witherspoon
will make a presentation, and there will be samples of Georgia fossils for
sale. National Fossil Day is a nationwide celebration
organized by the National Park Service to promote public awareness and
stewardship of fossils, as well as to foster a greater appreciation of their
scientific and educational value. For more information, see http://fsc.fernbank.edu/fossilday.htm.
