Goodwill® Hiring Staff for New Store

Goodwill® Hiring Staff for Two New Stores

Hiring Events to Start This Wednesday

Atlanta Metro – Goodwill of North Georgia will begin recruiting nearly 80 workers to fill open positions at its Stone Mountain and Cobb Parkway (Smyrna) locations. Both locations will include a store and donation center. The Stone Mountain store will open to customers on January 30, and the Cobb Parkway store will open February 20. Opening a new facility also means creating new jobs where they previously did not exist.

“As we continue to grow our organization, we have the opportunity to bring our unique shopping experience and new jobs to more communities. As an organization whose mission is focused on employment, we know first-hand the importance of adding jobs in communities where they previously did not exist,” says Goodwill’s Director of Public Relations Elaine Armstrong.

Goodwill is looking for both floor and production associates. Those interested in a position in Stone Mountain should apply in person during the hiring event December 18 – 20 at the Lions of Judah Event Center (6202 Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain, Georgia 30083). Those interested in positions at the Cobb Parkway store should apply in person during the hiring event January 21 – 23 at the Goodwill Career Center in Smyrna (3205 South Cobb Drive, Smyrna, Georgia 30080). Both events will take place from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old, bring valid identification, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to pass a pre-employment background screening and drug test. Interview attire is strongly recommended. Applicants are encouraged to apply online before attending the pre-screening

When the stores open, Goodwill expects shoppers to find it to be a great place for people looking to save money on clothes, books and other household items, and donors will enjoy the convenient drive-up donation center. Moreover, they will have the opportunity to help thousands of other North Georgians find work.

“Our mission is to put people to work. We do this through a variety of job training programs and employment services. We use the sale of donated goods to fund those activities. When you donate and when you shop, you’re helping put your North Georgia neighbors to work,” Armstrong explains.
