Stone Mountain Village Annual Christmas Parade and Fireworks

The annual Stone Mountain Village Christmas Parade and Fireworks is a fun, family event held the evening after Thanksgiving in the Historic Village of Stone Mountain, GA. Festivities run from 4:00pm – 8:00pm on Friday, November 23rd, 2012.


The parade starts at 6:00pm and includes bag-pipers, the amphibious duck from Stone Mountain Park, classic cars and motorcycles, marching dancers and elves, merchant cars and floats, choir music, the Conundrums Women’s Drumming group and more. Pony rides, marshmallow roasting and a letter writing station for letters to Santa will be available from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.


Santa’s arrival in the parade and the lighting of the tree are highlights before the fireworks extravaganza at 7:30pm.
The Christmas Parade is sponsored by Main Street Stone Mountain, a 501c3 non-profit organization charged with the revitalization efforts of  historic Stone Mountain Village.

It is directed by a volunteer board of involved citizens. The Main Street designation is set forth by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and provides a framework for revitalization which includes four points or development areas, 1.) Design – improving the aesthetics of the area, 2.) Economic Development – attracting businesses and improving infrastructure, 3.) Promotions – creating events to promote the city and 4.) Organization – developing the strategies, organizational structure and funding for the improvement initiatives.
