Are you living with a mental illness? Do you need additional skills in coping with your illness?
Want free help managing your mental illness? NAMI can help
The mission of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is to promote recovery and improve the quality of life for all who are afflicted by mental illness by providing support, education, and advocacy.
PEER TO PEER is a unique experiential learning program for people with mental illness who are interested in establishing and maintaining their recovery.
PEER TO PEER consists of ten two-hour units and is taught by a team of three trained mentors who are personally experienced at living well with mental illness. Participants come away from the course with a binder of materials and other resources: an advance directive to help identify tell-tale thoughts, feelings, behavior or events that may warn of impending relapse and to organize for intervention; mindfulness exercises to help focus and calm feelings; and survival skills for working with providers and the general public.
The class and materials are provided free of charge.
Class will start Thursday, January 10, 2013 and ends Thursday, March 14, 2013, 7:00pm-9:00pm
Location: Victory for the World Church, 1170 N. Hairston Rd., Stone Mountain, GA 30083.
