City of Stone Mountain Candidates: Andrea Redmond
Redmond is running for City Council Post 6 against David Thomas.
Municipal elections take place in Stone Mountain on Tuesday, Nov. 5 for mayoral and city council posts.
Andrea Redmond is a third grade teacher, a mother and a life-long resident who calls herself a "home-town girl."
"I know what the city can be," Redmond said, explaining why she wants to be on the city council. She spoke of dilapidated buildings and the need for more stores.
Downtown revitalization is crucial, Redmond believes, as is preserving the area's heritage for generations to come.
Kids need "better educational experiences" and "communication between the council and the people they work for" needs improving, according to her campaign literature.
