Weekend Planner: Birds and Bees, Walk 'n Roll, Free Comics and More
Five ideas for what to do in Stone Mountain and beyond.
Run, Walk ‘N Roll, benefitting the Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC), is a five mile race (or two mile walk) routing through Stone Mountain Park. It happens on Saturday, May 4 at 7 a.m. More details here.
Also on Saturday, a casino night and silent auction dubbed the Cuatro De Mayo Fiesta is happening at the Smoke Rise Country Club at 4900 Chedworth Avenue. It's a benefit for the Smoke Rise Prep Learning Center.
Free Comic Book Day is the first Saturday in May each year when comic book shops such as the The Dragon's Horde at 5615 Memorial Drive in Stone Mountain give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into the store. Guest appearance by creators John McGuire and Robert Jeffrey III along with Storm of X-men Fame!

Check out the Birds and the Bees at Fernbank Science Center. On Saturday, staff from Fernbank, the Atlanta Audubon Society, the Chattahoochee Nature Center, and Wild Birds Unlimited will be on hand to explain, show, and answer questions on birds and bees.
If you haven't been to the Clarkston Farmers' Market yet, now is your chance. Held on Sundays in the activity field next to the gardens at the Clarkston Community Center, the market includes internationally inspired prepared foods and hand-made crafts.
