At the library: Activities for teens & tots this week

For the grown-ups, Hairston Crossing wants to start a Friends of the LIbrary group

Programs for teens and little ones are at Stone Mountain-area libraries this week. If you'd like to participate in a new Friends of the Library group, Hairston Crossing would like you to stop by. While you’re at any DeKalb County library, don’t forget to sign up for the vacation reading program. Learn more about the program here.

Redan-Trotti:

  • Tuesday, June 7, 2011, 5:30 pm-7:30 pm- REDA Teen Tuesday. Teens ages 13-17 can bring a movie snack and enjoy a movie classic.
  • Wednesday, June 8, 2011, 10 am-10:45 am: Building Blocks playtime for children up to age 2 and their parents/caregivers, who must be present and participate.

  • Tuesday June 7, 2011, 6:30 pm-8 pm: Hairston Crossing would like to start a Friends of the Library group. If interested, and you’re age 18 and up, attend this meeting to learn more. 
  • Wednesday, June 8, 2011 2-5 pm: "Wild About Harry" – come discuss your favorite wizard and his pals, and watch two previous two Harry Potter movies before the new film comes out. For ages 13-17. Bring a small snack; “pumpkin juice” will be provided. Open to first 24 participants.

Normal hours of operation: The three libraries serving Stone Mountain -- Stone Mountain-Sue Kellogg, Redan-Trotti, and Hairston Crossing -- are all closed on Sundays; open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
