Volunteers Needed for Hospice Patients

Volunteers needed to visit patients in their home providing emotional support, errands and friendly companionship.

Heritage Hospice, Inc. is in need of volunteers who are able to provide various tasks, comfort and emotional support to our patients & families. Many family members are the 24/7 caregivers and need to take a short rest, run errands and attend to their own needs.

The goal our volunteers will have is to develop a relationship with our patients so they feel supported and loved.

Currently we have patients in Stone Mountain, Ellenwood and Decatur who have asked for help. Will you? We also need veterans to visit with our veteran patients.

Other opportunities are in assisting with activities in retirement and nursing homes. Small home repairs, light housekeeping, music and pet therapy and running errands.

A background check, TB tests and the ability to document visits and meet critical deadlines are a must. A personal commitment to a minimum of 10-12 hours per month is needed. Please call Debra at 770-423-5959 or e-mail at debralieb@heritage-hospice.com.
