Friends of Disabled Adults and Children Appoints 2014-2015 Board

Rusty McKellar of Pattillo Industrial Real Estate Appointed Chairman

Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC), a non-profit organization providing over $10 million annually in durable medical equipment (DME) and supplies to the disabled community, today announced its 2014-2015 board of directors. Rusty McKellar of Pattillo Industrial Real Estate was appointed chairman of the board replacing William Zachary of Zachary and Seagraves P.A.

“Rusty has distinguished himself as a leader at Pattillo and in the Atlanta business community,” said Chris Brand, president and CEO of FODAC. “As a long-time supporter of FODAC, Rusty has demonstrated similar commitment to the organization; he chaired our 2011 capital campaign which raised over $1.6 million to renovate the FODAC Stone Mountain facility. We look forward to working with Rusty as our new board chairman.”

McKellar joined Pattillo Industrial Real Estate in 1989, where he currently serves as director of land and development. He manages the company’s land holdings with responsibilities including planning, acquisition of entitlements, development and marketing.  Additional responsibilities include all due diligence with regard to the acquisition and disposition of assets, property tax analysis and property insurance.

Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC) helps people with injuries and disabilities of all ages regain their mobility, independence and quality of life. The non-profit organization provides more than $10 million annually in refurbished home medical equipment (HME) and home modifications in Georgia and across the United States, all at little or no cost to the recipients. A pioneer in re-use, FODAC keeps 200 tons of materials out of landfills each year by refurbishing and reissuing over 400 HME items every month, and is recognized nationally for best practices.
