Welcome to the Neighborhood: WhaTheHair, Clothesline Art, Next Level Men's Fashion

Recently-opened businesses in the Stone Mountain and Redan areas.

WhaTheHair

Kali and Hudson Dempaire had a salon, Dempaire Design Studio, on Memorial Drive for 12 years.

Now the Dempaires have a new place at called WhaTheHair. The salon opened for business earlier in November and the Dempaires plan a grand opening in February.

"The energy is different over here," Kali Dempaire said. It's the kind that "keeps you vibrant and motivated."

Clients are coming to the new location, and have even helped out with the renovations, she said.

"Clients have been very supportive," she said.

Next Level Men's Fashion: Logan Stewart has recently opened Next Level By Logan Men's Fashion, also in Crowe's Crossing Retail Center. The store carries everything from suits and hats to dress shirts jeans, and more.

Clothesline Art and Fine Art Treasures

This new Stone Mountain Village gallery, opening Thursday, Dec. 1, will feature the art -- described as "generally original" and for sale -- from senior citizens, most of whom are Park Springs retirement community residents.

The address is 963 Main Street in the City of Stone Mountain.

In addition to the original art there will be "hundreds of images to pick from" in its digital clothesline as well as photographic art by Les Scarborough, according to the brochure.

The 8x10s on the "line" are $10 plus tax; an 8 x 10 image in the digital clothesline is $15.

By the way, the clothesline references are explained this way in the brochure: "It's sort of like picking fruit off of a vine. And that is just where you may start in the 'Clothesline Gallery.' "
