S.Hairston Kroger to Get Major Makeover

The store, open for nearly 26 years, had its last renovation in 1999.

The on S. Hairston Road in Stone Mountain will get a makeover in 2012, intended to create a "brighter, fresher" look, a spokesman said Wednesday.

The store at 1232 S. Hairston Rd., which opened in May 1986, will get renovations estimated at more than $1 million, including a new entrance to the store, change to the interior decor and new shelving.

The plans also involve raising the ceiling, which "creates a fresher look and an open atmosphere," said Glynn Jenkins, director of communication and public relations for The Kroger Co., Atlanta division.
