Operators of several Chick-fil-A restaurants in metro Atlanta, including the two with Stone Mountain addresses, say Wednesday’s Appreciation Day was a hit.
Supporters of the chain and its CEO, Dan Cathy, who , kept the restaurants very busy Wednesday, helping to create a "record-setting day" said the restaurant operator on Memorial Drive.
Gay marriage proponents have named tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 3, National Same-Sex Kiss Day at Chick-fil-A.
Of yesterday's turnout, Tom Van Voorn, franchised restaurant operator at the , said, “It was a lot of fun. We greatly appreciated the support.”
Van Voorn said the restaurant had no problems supplying food to customers, .
Nick Goebeler, operator of the , told Patch through e-mail correspondence:
"We are very grateful and humbled by the incredible turnout by our loyal customers yesterday. Our goal was to serve each and every customer with genuine hospitality.
While we don’t release exact sales numbers, we can confirm that it was a record-setting day.
