'Fun,' 'Record-Setting' Chick-Fil-A Day Locally

Stone Mountain Chick-Fil-A operators say Wednesday's show of appreciation of the restaurant chain, whose CEO is under fire for recent comments about same-sex marriage, kept them busy. How will Friday's National Same-Sex Kiss Day at Chick-fil-A fare?

Operators of several Chick-fil-A restaurants in metro Atlanta, including the two with Stone Mountain addresses, say Wednesday’s Appreciation Day was a hit.

Supporters of the chain and its CEO, Dan Cathy, who , kept the restaurants very busy Wednesday, helping to create a "record-setting day" said the restaurant operator on Memorial Drive.

Gay marriage proponents have named tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 3, National Same-Sex Kiss Day at Chick-fil-A.

Of yesterday's turnout, Tom Van Voorn, franchised restaurant operator at the , said, “It was a lot of fun. We greatly appreciated the support.”

Van Voorn said the restaurant had no problems supplying food to customers, .
