Eagle Rock Distributing Moving to Gwinnett

After some 24 years at its Beverage Drive facility, the company will consolidate its Stone Mountain and Dalton operations to a former Kraft warehouse in the Norcross area.

Eagle Rock Distributing Company plans to move out of its facility at 1375 Beverage Dr. in Stone Mountain by year's end to a former Kraft warehouse in the Norcross area of Gwinnett County, said Kelly Coffed, with Eagle Rock public relations.

The beverage distribution company has been at the Stone Mountain location since 1989. Between that location and its Dalton facility, it has 300 employees.

"We've outgrown the space, so we needed to move into this new warehouse which is much larger and serves our needs much better," Coffed said.

The move, which will consolidate Eagle Rock's Stone Mountain and Dalton operations into one central location, will probably take place in the fourth quarter, Coffed said. The company needs to build out office space in its new location, she added.

Eagle Rock closed on the Norcross warehouse on Dec. 18, Coffed said.

Eagle Rock’s move is a big loss for DeKalb, said Emory Morsberger, president of the Stone Mountain Community Improvement District -- a loss he hopes will get the county's attention.

β€œ'We are working to get DeKalb to improve its processes so we attract people and keep people. This is a wake up call," Morsberger said.
