Why go: Quality time with the family while getting some exercise, too.

Commissioner Stan Watson's Bookbag and School Supply Drive Breakfast

When: Saturday, August 4, 9-11 a.m.

Where: Chapel Hill Middle School, 3535 Dogwood Farms Road, Decatur

Why go: It's that time of year, DeKalb Schools superintendent Cheryl Atkinson is scheduled to speakk - not to mention, there will be food.

Furry Fluffy Felt Fun (for ages 7-14)

When: Saturday, Saturday, August 4, 10 a.m.- 12 p.m.

Where: Hairston Crossing Library, 4911 Redan Rd.

Why go: A creative activity at a wonderful spot - the neighborhood library.

"Puss in Boots"

When: Saturday, August. 4, 2-4 p.m.

Where: Hairston Crossing Library, 4911 Redan Rd.

Why go: Free family entertainment indoors.

"I Ought To Be In Pictures"

When: August 2-19, 8 p.m. There are 3 p.m. shows on Sundays, and a 10:30 a.m. show on Wednesday, Aug. 15.

Why go: Support ART Station by seeing a  Neil Simon play. Note: Cost for adults is $25; seniors and students, $21.
