Strolling with Art in Stone Mountain

Saturday's Art Stroll starts at 6:30 p.m.

The ART Station in Stone Mountain Village will present an art stroll through its galleries (at the main ART Station location at 5384 Manor Drive) and the four Arts Incubator Galleries on Main Street and Mountain Street, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct 5.

The event is free and open to the public, but obtaining a passport for it is recommended. Passports are free of charge and may be picked up at ART Station, Center Town Galleries at 951A & 951B  Main Street, North Town Gallery at 977 Main Street or East Town Gallery at 5347 E. Mountain Street prior to the night of the event.

Passports are not required for admission but do give patrons privileges on the Art Stroll. If a patron visits all five galleries and gets their ticket punched at each gallery, they are entered into a drawing for Gift Certificates redeemable in all of the Galleries. Certificates are for $100, $50 & $25. In order to be eligible for the drawing, the passports must be turned in to the ART Station upstairs gallery no later than 9:15 p.m. on the evening of the event. Patrons do not have to be present to win.

The upstairs gallery showcases the fall members' exhibit, juried by Christopher Hickey, professor of art at Clark Atlanta University. Member artists of ART Station are eligible to submit work to 3-4 member exhibits annually, providing them an opportunity to have their work seen, and perhaps sold. Almost 50 artists participated in this exhibit, which includes painting, photography and sculpture.

"I Phonetics," the iPhone Photography of Marie Matthews, is hung in the downstairs gallery, in honor of Atlanta Celebrates Photography, the annual event that takes place every October.
